Fighting the urge to surf the net while at work is such a struggle especially for a net geek like me. And so I needed to create of a routine on how to work efficiently without compromising my hobby.
This morning, instead of wasting time on net surfing (which I do on regular basis, hehe..) I tried doing first what I am intended to do – start on the production support, open my mails to make sure I didn’t missed to answer status inquiries, and later on check our sharepoint if there is an issue I can easily solve. Then I turned to my developmental task and started typing. Before I knew it, I was halfway finishing it and was now excited of the next step I’ll have to do. Only after doing these important tasks that I allowed myself to freely give in to my craving (of enjoying the net, of course..). You see, I’ve done my tasks well and got to find pleasure with my spare time.
Success is also about prioritizing. It’s taking one step at a time, focusing, and again, time management.
So..what have I succeeded today? =)
