I could’ve chosen a larger animal for the title like the carabao or a more fierce one like the lion.. but why eagle?
Eagle, as defined by the Merriam- Webster dictionary:
eagle / eeg’l / n. a large bird of prey; a large and powerful bird of prey with a hooked bill and broad wingspan that hunts by day and is noted for its keen eyesight and majestic soaring flight.
An eagle does not only make a good predator. It also symbolizes huge dreams, bravery and triumph. It was even used by the Roman legions to represent power. And so feeling nostalgic, I remember a great mentor from SOM who used to compare fulfilled dreams with eagle flying high up in the sky. Fr. Al, as he is fondly called, had a wish for all of his “children” – to become eagles of success someday. Together with the loving SOM sisters, he instilled in our hearts and minds the tools on how to cope up with the changing wind.
Fr. Al and his ideals pushed me to create this blog for the hope of inspiring more people. I was deeply touched by his humble and saintly works that I am motivated to let the world know how he has influenced my life to achieving and maintaining success.
Already a cliché as it may seem, I am determined to be an eagle which would spread its wings beyond the clouds of dreams, trials, hardships, and victory!
